Transport between all 50 states and U.S. Territories, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Guam DOES NOT require a Letter of Transport unless the transporting agency requires one. Customers should always check with the transporting company to see if a Letter of Transport is needed between states and territories listed above.
MEXICO
- Account must be current with 18 months of payment history.
- Customer must provide proof of paid, full-coverage insurance for Mexico.
- Address and phone number where the unit will be (campsite & cell phone are OK).
- A time limit will be set and a Limited Stay Agreement form will be filled out and returned to HDFS with the original “wet ink” signature.
Please note: Release for Transport is only good for 30 days, and needs to be notarized.
CANADA
- Account must be current with 18 months of payment history.
- Customer must provide proof of paid, full-coverage insurance for Canada.
- Address and phone number where the unit will be (campsite & cell phone are OK).
- A time limit will be set and a Limited Stay Agreement form will be filled out and returned to HDFS with the original “wet ink” signature.

OTHER COUNTRIES – MILITARY OR CIVILIAN PERSONNEL WORKING FOR THE MILITARY
- Proof of Allotment or HDFS Bill Pay recurring payments.
- Account must be current, with 18 months of payment history.
- A Limited Stay Agreement form will be filled out and returned to HDFS with the original “wet ink” signature.
- Proof of full-coverage paid insurance for the destination.
- Address and phone number where the unit will be located/stored.
Please note: Military has its own Release for Transport which must be completed.
OTHER COUNTRIES – NON-MILITARY PERSONNEL
NO LETTER OF TRANSPORT WILL BE GRANTED BY HDFS; YOU MAY NOT TRANSPORT THE MOTORCYCLE OUT OF THE UNITED STATES.
